The F75480A/B is an 8 to 4 differential channel multiplexer/demultiplexer switch for PCI Express generation 3 (Gen 3) applications. The solution can switch 2 full PCIE 3.0 lanes to one of two locations. The F75480A/B is intended to switch PCIE data between two possible destinations in desktop, notebook PCs. The F75480A/B features a single digital control input (SEL) to switch signal paths between the IN and OUT channels. The F75480A/B is bidirectional switch, allowing the IN and OUT to be used as either inputs or outputs. This solution allows expansion of existing high speed ports for extremely low power. The F75480A/B has been able to minimize the impedance of the switch such that the attenuation observed through the switch is negligible.

The F75480A has input and output pins on the opposite of the package which is suitable for edge connector with different signal sources on the motherboard. This device minimizes the channel to channel skew as well as crosstalk as required by the PCIE specification. The F75480B has outputs on both sides of the package, and the device can be placed between two connectors to multiplex differential signals from a controller.

The device is specified to operate from a single + 3.3V power supply. The F75480A/B is available in an industry standard 3.5x9mm 42 pin QFN package which could operate at -40° C ~ +85° C temperature ranges.
